Libra: The Sole Survivor

Dear Ellist,

No story is complete without the mention of the the princess' other half, though in this very tale, the man is no prince nor a king. He's a soldier, a fighter and a survivor. This is a tale of Libra, the best companion that Princess Fiore has ever had.

The story began 15 years ago, little Libra was struggling to survive on the streets. His parents died due to sickness as they were too poor to get any treatment. And since then, he was left all alone to brave the days. One day, the King visited the small town Libra was in where he brought along his little princess, Fiore. While on the streets, she saw a little boy who was trembling, hungry. He probably hasn't eaten for days. His clothes were all covered in dirt, torn here and there. So she took out a bread from her bag and gave it to the boy.

"Here, take it. You'll feel better." little Fiore handed the bread to the boy. He then lifted his head and reached for the food. His hands were shaking but his black eyes shone with hopes and a spark of happiness. Such kindness gave him new hopes to survive. Ever since that day, he swore that he would rise to the top and receive recognition from the princess. Years then passed and Libra kept his words. He was then acknowledged for his bravery where he would defeat every enemy to protect the country.

Libra was known as the strongest soldier during that time and he was the one who assisted and protected his Princess Fiore especially in times of difficulty. Always fought in the front line, Libra was considered as the best fighter of his time as he has never suffered any defeat. No one dared to challenge him on the battlefield because they knew such a foolish act would only be met with death.

Favoured by Princess Fiore, she gave him a bottle of scents as a symbol of her love. Fiore combined spicy, woody and citrus scents to represent Libra's personality. The top notes were strawberry, marigold, sage and kalamansi whereas she chose cardamon, cinnamon and cedar for the heart notes to give the fragrance a spicy smell. And finally, she added some patchouli and wood as the base notes to give masculinity to the scents. This fragrance was so special as it represented their love.

However, what could be the ending of their story? Can a mere soldier take a princess as the love of his life?

To be continued...

Love,
Elly
